I have followed this game since its inception. In fact I preordered the first release. Even after the disappointing initial launch (iI decided to wait after all the negative commentary for later updates/releases) I continued to steadIly lurk through the next year for Fallen Enchantress. This I tried a bit but did not find compelling and was put off by indications the AI was passive/not challenging. When LE came out I tried a game and really liked the spirit of the world and the now clear design on rpg hero development inside a 'civ' game. But was still concerned about the AI. I decided to wait for 1.2. I have now played multiple games (losing
. ) and would like to give praise::
-- challenging AI -- I got out empired by a rival and when it got far enough ahead it came and took no prisoners. Made me veryhappy
--challenging design -- figuring out how to sculpt a particular style of play is very interesting. I am still struggling to figure out a viable strategy for my heavily unarmored faction (the undead oriented lady). Good stuff
--modders take up the slack -- the factions are interesting but I was really glad to see the storm mod with all the non humaN races. Frog boy gets credit for envisioning a very moddible game as a core feature.
-dlcs -- like them so far and look forward to many more. I was glad to be able to hand over some more $$ since up until now I have been given a free ride due to being an original preorder guy. You'all deserve $$ at this point quite a bit I think
I am impressed how a high quality design and product came out of a very arduous journey. True persistence, true commitment. Heroic even
I wish you much further success. This game I now feels stands shoulder to shoulder with AOW and MoM
