I know its probably too late, but I have wished for similar things on the WOM forum as well. Trying to do an inception and plant an idea in the mind of the Frog.
I want a living VERY dangerous world. I like to be beaten (ingame, not in life in general). When I finally win a game it will feel like an achievement. Therefore I always set the game so that I will be holding on for my dear life.
1. I want mercenaries (pretty please with sugar on top). I want to pay of a band of baddies to go bother someone else and get battle reports when they do. I will ofcourse pay them for this. I want to pay a band of baddies to go around and protect my land by attacking enemies approaching and killing beasts within my borders.
2. I want bandits, mercenaries and such to sometimes group (if no nation is setteling nearby) and form a nation. They would build and research as everybody else, but ofcourse they would be behind as they start well into the game.
3. I want rare random things to happen. Some creatures that only appear very rarely and feels special to beat. Some equipment that is only found once in a blue moon.
4. Finally I want the people/nations I meet to give me missions that they will pay for. Build a shrine for our good a local tribe asks, and the reward will be the 5 best warriors the tribe has to offer. Kill the Zhagarian beast in the northern woods that are killing us, and receive full access to our gold quarry (+10 gold a turn). You know the drill 
This is what I hope for and try to plant in a green mind.
