I have to agree, wait for FE beta, wait for impressions from folks here, then decide.

 

If it's a huge improvement, we'll be happy, but plenty of nitpicking.

 

If it isn't, you'll probably see some flames then people leaving.

Welcome to the sausage factory.  When things go seriously wrong, fixing the original game takes seriously long.  I'm annoyed too, but things can only go as fast as inherent factors allow, and I agree that at this point in time it makes a lot more sense to focus on making FE a fun, solid, polished game (or better) rather than devoting significant resources to a game that's claim to fame (or infamy) has already been decided.

It is a very good game. If you get it goto the AOW Heaven site to download the Unofficial Players patch. There are other goodies you can download to.  My friends and I still play this game to this day.

AoW:SM, since you brought it up, is a better successor to Master of Magic than WoM is right now (or as the base game will every be, to be frank). I'd suggest picking it up.

Master of Magic itself is still a great game, but the AI shows its age.

Oh, and before I forget, Dom 3 is indeed worth every penny.

I was not impressed with DOM 3. I hate just sitting back and watch tactical combat run itself. Very boring. But there are aspects of the game that were cool. Unless I mised an option to allow me to run the Tactical Combat like in AOW:SM and MOM.

Ok so I know I know, its not ready yet.  But I have played the AOM, the DF and the dominions and now I want to try WOM.  I can deal with bugs.  So unless something else is out there I need to check out.  I have been shopping around and found some weird prices.

 

I hope I am not posting this to see it change, but it seems to me you can buy WOM for 19.99 on gamestop, yet if your impatient like me and want to download it now its 39.99 from impulse.

 

Anyone know what that means?

Just buy it from GameStop for $20. Register the cd key with Impulse then you will have both. IMO WOM is not worth $40. Not with FE around the corner.
