Make FE 64-bit only

Let SD help move the industry forward... since you don't make games for money, let's help make the industry move in the right direction.  You'd be the James Cameron (3D) or George Lucas (digital) of the gaming industry.

Bad idea, since FE is "making up" for the E:wom release which was promised as a 32-bit release.

And I don't have 64-bit.  Sorry Stardock, but they don't have the power to influence people making that kind of change.  It would have to be some real major game release to do that, not Elemental.

FE is going to be the sweetest game ever remember?  It would be the perfect choice for an industry changer.  Brad laughed at me when I sent in a screenshot on my wife's Windows XP laptop.  Time for Windows 7 64-bit dude.  Ask your mom for an early Christmas present.

SD never promised what platform it would be on... they only said it would be "free".

Yeah, I wonder if the Magic: The Gathering-like cards that are hogging all the memory problem as well as other memory problems would go away if they were using 64-bit for the game.

64-bit isn't a cure for memory leaks--it just gives you the potential to have more memory to work with. Though whether the game is 64-bit or not, there's not much reason to not run Win64 on a personal gaming machine.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind getting rid of the custom cards altogether if it had a significant effect on memory management. I'd take a bigger map any day.
