Ok.
So I've been gone all day since I originally posted, and came back to find exactly what I figured: replies both for and against my OP, and finally a lock-down by Brad.
And that's fair, considering I was a little blunt and borderline insulting to specific Stardock employees (mostly Brad.) But if I were working for Stardock I would feel compelled to bring up this issue in a similar, though a lot less insulting, manner. The internet allows a lot of words to be said without real-time repercussions, and I understand that and took full advantage. With all that in mind this is the last I'll post on the subject, unless it stays civil and Brad allows the discussion to continue.
The point I was trying to get across is this: Why - considering such a disappointing launch, and the subsequent hiring of two industry professionals (and presumably others) to bolster the Elemental team - are these resources not completely and utterly focused on creating content exclusively for the original game? It baffled me when FE was announced, and now, with this 1.2 patch being delayed seemingly ad infinitum, this whole affair almost seems like a cruel joke.
I want this game to be a big giant mega-win, more than any other game, because, in spirit, it is the kind of game I would love to play over and over again. And with what other game company can you expect the CEO to moderate the message boards on a daily basis? None that I can think of, and I truly appreciate you and have a great amount of respect for you Brad and the entire Stardock team for that interaction. Please check my other postings on this forum, I have done nothing but defend Stardock.
But I would really love an answer to the above question.
Please, stop the pet projects and have your entire Elemental staff focus on the core elemental game for a while. If we are going to beta test it anyways, let's beta test lots of new features, not a few here or there while the majority of the work goes towards a project which will be done 'sometime in the relatively not-too-distant future.'
And sincerely Brad, I don't give a giant horse turd about the free content you promised me. What I would like (and expect at this point) is a game that works as intended and is fully featured as intended, as soon as possible.
Thank you.
PS: Lord Xia, I love you too.
