I wanted to load Elemental on my netbook, for the sporadic times I would only have that available. Unfortunately, the max resolution on it is 1024x600. And E:WoM has a minimum of 1024x768.
Otherwise, I love the game.
I have this same problem on my Netbook. I can really only play old games that support 800x600. I would love to be able to play Elemental on my Netbook.
You can get it to run in other resolutions, kinda. Goto... My Documents/My Games/Elemental/Prefs.ini and change the DisplayWidth and DisplayHeight values to whatever you want.
I set them to 800 x 600 and got Elemental to launch, though some of the UI was cut-off.
See like there. Right as I was posting that, I had to shut everything down due to a nasty storm moving through. I could have played Elemental on the netbook... but I had to settle for Master of Magic.
I'll have to play with the resolutions in the .ini, and see what I can get it to do. Thanks!
This will probably be just like Sins of a Solar Empire, where netbook res was never added, but a mod was released to allow it to play at that res.
