Starting to check your emails? To eager?

I'm starting to check my email every hour in anticipation for the beta release. Considering how it doesn't seem as though there will be much to test until the first of next month you think I'm to eager? Considering I've made this post its obvious that boredom doesn't help my cause either. Anyone else doing this too?

I would strongly recommend against doing that outside of business hours.  My experiance is that they usually release mid day.

 

(also, I think it would be faster to check impulse.  since thats when you'd be able to start downloading.)

Buisness hours in which country and what side of that country?

also I'm not yet that desperate atleast my emails give me other things to do too.

Plus there is the slight problem that it is supposed to be released tomorrow, 9/17. Since it is still 9/16, at least in the US where Stardock is located, I'd say it's still way to early.

Apparently I have to wait for an email with a serial number anyway since I pre-ordered through the Stardock website rather than buying through Impulse.  At least I think that's how it's supposed to work...

I'm sure it makes little to no sense to do it.. but I've been doing the same thing Ozmono...

 

I was hoping that maybe they were worried about a rush of people trying to download all at once, so they would "slip" it out in the wee hours of the morning....

 

I'm not trying to say that it makes sense... but it is difficult to stop checking my email for a serial number....

after reading the beta schedule, looks like Brad wasnt kidding when he said the beta wouldnt be fun... still i'm looking forward to getting the beta and seeing how my system handles what little there sounds like there is to handle:P

I don't care if it "won't be fun". What will be fun to me is watching the game develop from the bare bones on up, and seeing what ideas people come up with to improve the game. Of course, I'm weird too: I LIKE finding bugs and beta testing things. I'd rather it be a  long involved process so that the game itself runs smoothly, and I would be damn proud to be a part of that.

...and yes. I'm checking my email. Almost hourly. Just in case.

Well, I'm back at work tonight so I imagine it'll come out sometime when I'm sleeping in the mornings/afternoons..sigh.  Sure nothing to do in the 'game', but I still want it...

Stardock runs on (American) Eastern Standard Time, as far as I know. Making it around 3am there, I believe?

I wouldn't expect it before 9am their time and more likely some time during the day, after the last little checks are made and whatnot. I'm sure as soon as it's available people on the forums/chat will be talking about it though.

Ok I admit it I'm checking too, I'm about to get of to work (here in the UK), but I'll at least be checking emails most the day. Though I know that UK time stardock normally release things mid to late evening.

Beta 1 looks like it won't really even include the full game skeleton so it won't be fun in itself, what is fun aas has been said is seeing the game develop form the ground up and having a chance to help in some small way.

Well assuming mid-day is around 15:00 EST, that will be around 19:00 GMT. So all us working (or studying) folk in Europe can rest assured that they probably won't miss a thing.

Pity the Americans who will be working, or the people who live past +4 GMT who probably have to be sleeping, around that time.

Hey, for one good thing that we europeans are getting... Call it Karma for what EA and others do in Impulse (damn Dragon Age preorder...). But considering what Frogboy has said, no one is going to miss anything. We are going to check just if it works in our computers.

Worst case scenario, you just re-place your order, you got till end of September if something does mess up.

Hi all -- long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm pumped about this game!

With all the chatter about an immanent beta release I finally placed my order last night just a little after midnight EST. Alas, no email for me yet (9AM EST) but here's hoping by the end of the day.

Elemental comes at just the right time for me. After tiring of Heroes of Might and Magic and Sins of a Solar Empire, and subsisting on King's Bounty for the last couple of weeks (which I have nearly finished) I'm ready for the next great turn-based strategy game!

I would not expect the release before 1200 EST today. I hope to be pleasantly surprised though.
