Just to clarify There was a sticky thread that gave information for getting a drengin.net membership at a discount if you already had bought galciv. Its was for like $30 so you really didn't get hurt for having bought galciv seperately first. Ug. I really want it now. I waste money and stupid things often and this doesn't seem so stupid. Hope somebody has the info and that offer hasn't run out yet. Help please anyone?

I've had some very specific suggestions the deal with the tech tree. 1. the end game for a tech victory is pretty easy. In terms of bonuses, you really could just limit each bonus to only apply once per sector... or some such limitation (maybe each additional identical bonus on another startbase only helps by half as much. This makes sense since, for example, the interstellar distributor is really just helping production by helping get resources... but having more distributors wouldn't really help efficieny anymore than the first did.

The logistic ability sounds cool, very good idea. But before thinking about implementing it I'd suggest some major thought to how it would be integrated into your AI. The best part of the game is the AI, I'd hate for an additionl aspect of the game to dilute that key factor.

I could be wrong but I think there is a bug in the planet quality ability. If I have it, colonize a planet and then later destroy it the planet does correctly revert to its old number... however if someone else conquers a planet I've colonized the quality does not revert. And the AI doesn't colonize lower level planets even if it does have the planet quality ability. It's a bug that really lets me get an advantage, even at genious level.
