How can I get more food? I've explored the map but have not found sources that aren't claimed yet. Does researching something reveal more fertile land or honey or whatever?

What does having more arcane knowledge (through buildings) or technical knowledge (through building studies?) do? Does it lower the time it take to learn new spells or research?

Why am I STILL getting my butt kicked? I have the world AI set to novice, I've created my own character who is a warlord, I have only one allied kingdom besides mine on the board, the kingdom's AI is set to novice... I have 2-3 cities all built near food sources. None of them are really large but they're still well-developed. I've researched military to give me armor, better weapons, etc. and created some seriously kick-butt soldiers that require 10 metal per train
What causes my city to begin research (magic, warfare, diplomacy, etc.)? Is it the creation of a certain building? Do the bonuses created by studies and stuff stack?

I too find the novice setting on the sandbox mode exceptionally difficult. I'm going to try with fewer opponents on the map next.

The single must challenging thing during Elemental's later development stages was when I had to take over last Spring as Producer, I still had a company to run and so I couldn't focus full time on managing the project (at the time, I thought I could just add 45 hours to my weekly schedule but that had unintended
Awesome news. Good luck new-producer-dude.
