Quoting cr0nic69, reply 14 What do yo mean by a utility that does the code work for you? Some programs allow you to build within a visual interface to make the process easier while the XML code is being built underneath. The Tile Editor is a good example. Eclipse is purely a code editor so will mean you need to code the XML structure directly.
Kael built something like what you describe for FfH's XML in Exce
I turn off the recorder and finish my burger. We talk some more about general geek stuff, like what we're watching or reading and why, then go. Before the visit's over, Brad will take me back and show me several white, boxlike beehives he keeps in a meadow behind Stardock's HQ building. My younger brother's allergic to bee stings. I'm wondering for the umpteenth time if I am, too. I ask if we ought to suit up first. He tells me I have nothing to wor

I use the random name-gen for city names, and therefore I don't have a very strong connection between the name and what the city does/is specialized in. Upon city Levelup, I'd like the screen to be more to the side, so that we can see which city it is referring to inform our choice on the levelup screen - similar to the CIV IV quick popup build menu that shows up when a city finishes a build. Even though you can see the city's stats in the main UI window, it may be useful

Playing some more Elemental, there are a few UI features I'd like to see added to the in-game shop. Subtabs to sort things to buy - perhaps: Weapons, Armor, Misc, All. A marker to see which items my character already has equipped (even when I'm in the buy tab) Showing me all items in "my inventory" even when they're equipped (use the same mark as #2) The ability to cycle between characters without leaving the shop. A button to take me str

You should be able to get it when it's ready (non-beta) which may be tonight. Edit: I'm slow. Oh well.
Eh, Kyro is paid to be fast :P

Impulse is stardock's digital distribution platform - think steam, but you don't need to have impulse running everytime you start a game. Currently they're planning to release Elemental a few day(s) early to their pre-order crowd. I think the window on that is closed. Elemental's street date is August 24th, so you should be able to order it from impulse then.
However, one thing I think that should be high in priority for Stardock is to make sure Reactor chatting can work with a program like Raptr. One fair criticism of GFWL is that once you close your game, you can't talk with anyone. I think integrating it with another chat program would serve Reactor's interests best.
I would love that. Most every "in-game" chat system doesn't expose the chat API, so 3rd party chat software cannot interface with the game's chat interface.&

As a benchmark, Python and XML modding were available for CIV IV on day 0. They released the uncompiled dll (SDK) at some point later in the timeline, around a year later. For some perspective on what should and shouldn't be done with DLL modding (something we probably won't have on day 0), see Xienwolf's thread on CFC . As annatar11 says, you only get to modify what is "exposed" to python in the dll.
Sareln, I agree with most of what you wrote, but this: It also means that they naturally cannot work within the different price-fixing standards of each particular market. Since they are also offering Elemental at retail, they are stuck with the constraints put upon them by the retail markets they are participating in. Not quite. 1) In Europe ther'
Stardock is smart to do the beta the way they did. If they had of released a full version near the end of programming developing stage it would have been out there on the Pirate sites before the 24th of Aug got here thus cutting into their revenue and profits even more. I've been beta testing for 25 years and I've seen it all. Most beta testers just want a free game and hardly ever send in a bug report. In this case we all paid to be in the beta
