I may have found something interesting... When I add windowblinds using vista standard, it appears transparent. If I add windowblinds as vista basic, it doesn't appear transparent but I get the scroll down effect in Xp, that is in Vista basic. It seems as if windowblinds uses the last effect you had up and just modifys windows classic. IS this correct? No, according to ATI, all the way down to their 9500 series support wddm. http://ati.amd.com/technology/windowsvista/Products.html I know damn well it should work. I have a friend whose dad has a 9600 pro, and his pc runs aero glass just fine... Could it be because this machine has home basic?

Okay, so it's not my 8800, but this card supports wddm, I looked it up... It's a 9600 pro. It should be fine, but windowblinds doesn't mention anything... Does it have to? Using registered version BTW. Reason why I ask is some things don't appear transparent, like start menu. Has windowblinds incorrectly identified this pc??

Have all it's effects usable by any skin? The problem with 5.5 is you can't select aero glass on any skin, or transparency, etc. Will the new effects be usable on any skin?

Why would it be worth it? I have a: Core 2 Quad 2 Core 2 duos 2 athlon xps And this POS celeron 500 which is the only xp machine. Would it be worth it to upgrade it's hdd?? I only want to load windowblinds to the old machine because it's become an entertainment machine, not a real machine anymore, and I want the os to look nice. Notice that I said entertainment machine. The only reason it's the Xp machine is because it can't use vista... LOL, it's a celeron 500 with 256 megs sdram and a geforce 4... and a 4 gig hdd... even for a old machine it is pretty good (but needs a hdd, but why would I buy it one??)
