Would seem to me that it would be more of an exploit if you could form a large alliance, turn off alliance victory, thus forcing the AI to refuse alliance - thus potentially being a loner in a galaxy with one huge allied fleet bearing down. Now what happens if that loner is removed? Should the AI again rethink itself and say, "There is no longer a loner out there and thus victory is impossible given the current state of things ... I must attempt to go it alone!" I'm not sure what

The translations to the big screen that are poor are due to budget, actor and script issues. Many of the games have a great premise, but you'd think that someone didn't even bother to play or understand what they're translating. Done like FarScape (following certain characters in the universe) and interacting with the entire evolving wars and diplomatic issues -- it could be very entertaining. Don't start off with love shtick and concentrate on developing the characters, how they fi

I hate the Altarians. I got 5 planets and they had about 25. Luckily they declared war on another race and left me alone long enough to get some military research done in case they decided to push my luck.

I'd like to use one, even if it's just to tweak things until I think of something extraordinary.

While I like the idea of the forums, I do have to say that I agree they aren't as great as they should be. However, bugs, modding, ideas - I read quite a bit of things every day. If they had to go, an official (and hopefully more honest than other companies) version for Known Issues, Upcoming Patch Changes, etc would still remain here. I would have to see what "new forums elsewhere" would bring before I could give a fully educated response to the question.

Not only that, but even if you put them in position from Earth -- you'd then have to put them in relative position to each other if you want more "realism." Hard to do on a 2D map of a 3D reference.

Try dumping them lots of money and see if they utilize it to build up their planets. Without knowing if it's a glitch in intelligence, it could simply be a focus of spending on research, even if the planet is set to social production. Others may be spending all their money on crafting scout vessels and leaving the planets to rot. Just a thought.

"I'll check back with you after two years. If you've done as I ask, if you've created a force I can use against the Corps .. I'll take out that neural block. Then you can deal with Bester. I'll deal with the Corps. We both get what we want."

Keeping taxes so that morale is 100% is about the best way to start if you want immediate population growth. You might go 1 round where you tax like mad for a ship or building, but recon the area during the beginning to plan for colonization and starbases. Until population grows some, you won't be madly populating places anyhow.

I'd pay $19.99 for pre-order and $24.99 if I waited too long and realized I wanted it. As far as what they're offering - it's ok. I was one of those that said "yes" to multi-player so I could play with friends.

A mod to display custom portraits isn't the same as a mod displaying customized portraits. Splitting hairs, I know.

Doubtful anyone would make this mod - it would result in someone making Pimps in Space. (for reference, flashback to an April Fool's joke about Pimps at Sea MMORPG)
