I think moo2 and galciv2 have a lot in common, which I don't think is a bad thing. I think adding leaders would be a good idea, it would add a bit more variation to the game Well, Infogrames and Quicksilver dropped the ball on that one, so SOMEONE had to show 'em how to do it right.

The set-up: Playing as the Yor, I've been allied with the Drengin and the Korx and am working on weaseling my way between the mighty (and gross) bosoms of the Arceans. My military is too strong for all, but the Arceans, so most of the relations have +Too Busy to go to War With Us. Suffice to say that since everyone was scared of me, I kept building military starbases everywhere so I could roam with evil in my heart. However, the
[quote Probably stopped at the border. Those mounties are pretty strict about Drengin imports. ] You don't know how close to the truth you are.
I couldn't bother to wait. I bought from Stardock and I'll let 'em handle whether or not my box gets here fast or slow. Doesn't matter 'cause I'm playing it.
Anyone else run into this at all?
Heroes can sort of be emulated by raising a particular ship's level. It's not exactly the same, but at least you can have an under-powered ship trounce ass all over the galaxy.
What's the conversion for mp to a shield? With only 3 factories, 5 seems to be correct, but then again, I don't really pay attention so long as I'm stomping the AI.
I'm gonna add: 1. I would LOVE to be able to upgrade ships from the ship selector or the context window. This is basically because I have to break fleets to upgrade. It makes logical sense, but if I have a lone ship, I can upgrade -> upgrade all and the fleet will upgrade along with it. However, if I don't have a lone ship, I have to break the fleet since neither the selector or the context window while in a fleet will allow for it.
The AI has also come up with some really rather ridiculous trade offers, such as wanting to trade their Mass Drivers tech for my Xeno Ethics... when I've been researching Phasors. They could at LEAST have thrown in some money or influence into the bargain! Normally in this case, I try to re-neg the de
I only say this is unconfirmed because I have no idea what caused this to happen, but I've always set battles to Full (because I like to see stuff flying around and blowing up). That being said, at some point in my game (perhaps I touched a hotkey), battles started taking place on the map instead of the battle screen. I checked my options again and saw that nothing had changed and I even tried a few turns with the settings to normal, and then placing
I think it makes perfect sense. Otherswise you could end up with a fleet of unarmed freighters kicking everyones ass. I, too, think this is logically sound. Think of it as a multiplier instead of an addition (I'm sure there's some mathematician who can do it for you). You can't add a multiplier to
Technically, you can create ugly ships by placing anything on any available hardpoint, but swuboo and I seem to be more inclined on making our ships visually and logically sound from a design sense. Sure, we could put engines on the tip of a spire, but it looks weird. It's tough to do so when hardpoints aren't mapping correctly.
I don't know how best to point this out, but I'll do my best. The Yor medium hulls have a few glitches. The first one (three prongs in the front) is fine, but the second and third have some odd hardpoint problems. One of them - the third, I think - has one of its hardpoints reversed (thus requiring a flip, a 90-turn, another flip, and another 90-turn ... not really a big deal) and the other (looks like a sled and is characterized by two do
I would rather the AI simply make counter-offers to your own offers. For example, if you want to take a tech and offer a tech on a one-to-one trade (which would be your proposal), the AI ought to say something like, "We don't like that, BUT we can do that trade if you give us on top of your original proposal." Or quite simply have the AI highlight what they want in exchange for what you want, thereby showing you how much value they place on th
Yeah, I figured it out by looking at the research tree. Trade unlocks the module, whereas the Advanced Trade gives you bonuses. I just figured that if I got more advanced trade tech, the module would be included. Not so.
Maybe I'm missing it, but I thought the trade tree unlocked the trade module for ships. The only thing is that I skipped Trade and bartered for Advanced Trade. No trade module available. Is it further down the tree or something?
Yep. Simply ensure that your list isn't filtered (e.g. Your Style), and scroll all the way to the top. There's an option to build nothing and it will ensure you're not constantly pumping out scouts or something.
