Well, Stardock, can you at least admit the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people, under the supervision of the reverse vampires are forcing our parents to go to bed early in a fiendish plot to eliminate the meal of dinner? We're through the looking glass, here, people...

I don't see why they would still revolt, their only reason for revolting is because they think the high influence empire is so much better than their own they would like to join it. If they know they can't they'll stay with their current empire, they don't dislike their own empire, or if they do they can perform an unhappyness revolt instead of a culture one. It's like an office accross the street offering a better paid job but they turn you down when you apply. You don't quit your old

I once mapped out the starbases influence area and posted a drawing in the following thread. Pics don't seem to be there anymore, any chance you could link them again?

first the flip is not decided by any race but directly by people it's somewhat of a revolt against the original owner in favor of the new owner I don't see how could one leader (either side) have any power on that directly (other than by propaganda & such Simple, the leader can just refuse to let them join his empire. By letting them kn

I was just thinking; with the special planets in DA we'll probably see much more intermixed empires as races who can colonise special planets will be able to waltz in and claim worlds in your systems which you're not yet able to use. So: Will there be any way to warn off other races from taking planets inside your borders? Or maybe some method of claiming a planet before you can colonise it? Will the AI be a bit smarter about where it colonises? Right now the AI almost always t

As much as I would like more features I'd hate to wait longer for DA. The more I hear about the cool new things in DA the more I miss them when playing regular GC2, so the planned DA in october would be my choice. Couldn't the extra stuff you've thought up since the contest be added in patches or even a 2nd xpack in a few months? Quite a few games are releasing "episodic content" these days so having only a few months between xpacks shouldn't cause any raised eyebrows. Having said that,

The only time I've noticed the turn button not go green is when my last move is putting a ship into guard mode. When I do that sometimes it'll go green, sometimes it won't.

Still, I agree, its a bit silly. All the more reason to kill off that 11th player though... Good idea, the Iconians just attacked me anyway For the recored I'm using 1.31 and haven't modded anything. You don't need to randomise the races either, Glitch

Actually, this would cause me to use special invasion tactics less than I do now. I always go for military conquest so sooner or later the planet will be mine. I'd prefer to damage it as little as possible, since I'll only have to spend resources building it back up How so? If you use a special tactic and win then there's no change anyway. If you

than indeed i would make 100 small transport ships, invade all his planets with the best weapon i have, he would lose like 50% of all his space due to my weapons and i would have lost not to much, but he would be maimed. now you can exploit this to first send in 1B troops and do your best weapons, you kill like 10B of his, and your second transport with more troop

If you use a special invasion tactic, like mass drivers, and your invasion fails the target planet takes no damage from the mass drivers. I'd guess it's like this so that you can't just make a cheap transport with 1 million troops on it and smash up all the enemy planets you can't take normally. However it means even the most massive of failed invasion pretty cheap for the defender, assuming you have better soldiering tech than your opponent and perhaps with the aid of +defence building

And asteroid fields give players a LOT more control over their economy based on THEIR strategy as opposed to randomly placed good/bad planets because players can direct where the resources from asteroids go to (with diminishing returns as they get further away). Ohh, now this is interesting. Will you be able to pick any planet to send the resourc

A note on AI war declaration; at times when I've had a weak military the AI has quite happily waltzed in and placed fleets near my good planets and starbases just before attacking me, so sometimes the AI is very well prepared indeed. I've also noticed allys not being counted when the AI decides to attack someone, sometimes resulting in a swift smacking down of the attacker and I agree it needs to be looked at, but honestly, the same thing has happened to me on a few occusions <img src="

Some kind of rangefinder would be nice. Something like you select a ship and hold shift then you get a faded movement line to whereever the mouse pointer is. By the pointer it should show you the travel time for the selected ship to that point and if it's in range or not. If it's not in ranger also show how much range is needed vs how far the selected ship can go.

The Korx in my latest 1.31 game are attacking trying to attack my freighters. They can't hurt them because I have the wonder that makes them invincible, but they have a couple of fleets chasing any that cross their borders.

Not checked if it persists through a reload, if it does, who do I send the save to? For some reason I can't edit my post. Anyway, it does indeed persist through a reload. I also found you can still doubleclick and get the ship's details, but it cannot be selected normally. Edit: I can edit this one ok though <img src="http://images.s

I've noticed ships on sentry or guard sometimes get locked in place so I am unable to select them. Might be due to the change so that clicking on ships in sentry or guard doesn't take them out of that state? When a ship becomes locked like this you do not get the blue highlight around them, it's like clicking an empty space on the map. However, next turn they are unlocked and can be moved as normal. Not checked if it persists through a reload, if it does, who do I send the save to?
