As I said, they're WAY too tanky. Pirates should be opportunistic glass cannons. If you can field more ships that are better than anything else in the universe, why are you bothering with the pillage. Grab the planet and expand like wildfire!

And a few orders of magnitude more expensive.
How do you consider a single starbase countering raids a problem but think that repair bays and turrets should be enough?
This is something I've said before and isn't in the game for god knows what reason. When launching, Pirates should attack ALL players with an active bounty. HOWEVER, the size of the fleet sent to each player depends on the amount of the bounty. ADDITIONALLY, the total sum of pirates are only slightly affected by the total sum of the bounties, and they are primarily affected by the average fleet size cap of all the players in the game. That way, if you find yourself wit
Save already overwritten by other game. The one with me getting pissed off and the 15k bounty idiocy.
New game, got a ~600 credits bounty on my head, figured I could take them on, no problem. Yeah, no. A hundred ships came. A hundred. Against my flagship, two caps and a smattering of corvettes. The pirate siccing mechanics are STILL incredibly toxic, and the pirate screen is STILL ignored all the time except for the last half of second where you just pump up the bounty. Got mad afterwards, placed a 15000 bounty on one AI. 0.1 seconds before the pirates launched, I had
Oh right, forgot about that. Thanks.
I'm a little bit sad. I wanted to play some Trinity and don't feel like installing Impulse, but I don't feel like messing with betas and bugs at the moment. Even though Rebellion comes with all the previous Sins titles, it doesn't actually give you the titles, they're just integral parts of the package. You can't play just Trinity or just Entrenchment for the starbasey goodness without the diplomatic cruisers, you can only play the Rebellion beta. It makes me a
After you play each mod you think, "I like this part but..." and then the next one and the same and so it goes. Eventually you think, "I must create my own!"...and then the insanity begins.
That happened to me with Galactic Civilizations 2. It got so large and out of hand that I never even finished nor released it. It ate frikken DAYS of my life.
Installed Distant Stars, I like a lot of it, but the added levels of linear improvements are a bit much, especially in the early stages. Still, it makes unlucky starts with few planets/labs militarily more viable, even though it doesn't help with colonization, which is what it should be doing.
Erm... 130 Rogues alone is more than the entire sum of all fleets an eight-player map has with the most insane and generously cheating AI... Seriously, the first few pirate raids feel like "which player would you like to eliminate instantly", and they make the pirate base unassailable.
It seems there's something wrong with the pirates. Li Sector Remnants just got their very first bounty of the game on them, a single 250, and something like 30 reapers, 130 rogues, 40 corsairs and 30 cutthroats spawned and went after them. I know because they passed right through one of my planets on Power of Balance. And no, this is without the improved pirates extra. Is this intended? Should I play this mod with Inactive Pirates?
Just got back to Sins after a break. I want something new. What's the best, most complete, most awesome, most stable, most must-try mod out there right now?
Big massive + for the PCIP!
Thanks for the replies. I'm downloading it right now, and I'll see if I can get a game on with you guys after I install the mods.
Hey guys. Haven't played Demigod in almost a year. Left due to the massive imbalances of LE/UB/Oak, the huge frustration factor of hosts doctoring game stats, stupid connection and synchronisation issues, ridiculous mechanics of perma-flag-locking, a few bugs, and the ever-loving devs who left the game in the hands of Stardock about a month after release. Is there any reason for me to install it again? Or should I just stick to League of Legends?
Stardock must stop releasing 4X games within a month of a Civilization's release. That is all.
That's rather interesting, thanks!
Not exactly. It's a percentile increase, as far as I can recall. Sizemod of 5 means the object's size is further modified by 5% of the ship's room, before miniaturization.
So I have a lot of free time on my hands, and I also have StarCraft II. I want to make a Terran Dominion race, complete with their tech tree, buildings, ship designs and the like. I have a lot of stuff on my mind already, but I need your help filling up all the gaps. So, for starters, tech tree. The extremely long, long, long techlines will be reduced greatly. Their total cost will, however, be kept. This is because I want to get as much of the Dominion into this with as little filler
If Antimodule increases their damage against mines, sure. Right now, I just ignore scouts as minesweepers and just facesplat mines with my capships.
Also, their mine scanning is stupid, and in most cases, scouts will suicide into mines instead of clear them out. They should, imo, get an increase in their mine detect range, and the same for their ineffective cannon so it can actually take out a mine before it suicides into it.
After about half an hour, the game's sounds will start having an odd buzzing for a few second every few minutes. I have no idea why this is, but it started happening after the recent patch, did not happen before...
I turned them off. Then they released a patch. Played with pirates, got raped, raped AI, got raped by hyperfast Ai bidding, and now I turned them off again. Someone, please. Think about the pirate dispersion thingy. Divide the pirate wave according to the bounty and remove their sick stats! Kodiaks with 3000 health and 30 armor are even more ridiculous than the same with just 4k health!
