One thing I noticed in GalCiv I is that military might is based on the number of ships you have and not the type or power of the ships you have. So basically you could build up a massive ship base of weak & cheap(inexpensive, low build time) ships and have a huge military which would deter other races from attacking you. It seemed kind of a cheap way of getting around having to go to war. Personally I'd like to see that changed so the other races are

That was probably a dumb question.. but, here is another. If that is the way it works is there a certain(set) number of improvements/buildings you can build per sector?

I noticed the icon for soil enhancement or something in one of the tiles and was wondering if that is how you upgrade your planet quality... Tile by tile ?

In GC / Altarian Prophecy I found it a pain to have to wait until a transport was built or just buy one to have it lost when I take over a planet.. I could see it making sense to lose the ship if you fail to take over the planet but what happens to it if you do take over the planet? Where does that ship go? Is it going to be the same case in GC2. Just a really really minor sort of suggestion. I can't really see how it'd effect the game much. </
