AHHHHH....I hate It

Well, you all know about me and the Airforce...But I have to have just about a perfect record crime wise...Speeding tickets, and other things that are Bad....So I dont speed..I dont drink...But it is horrible because It effects my everyday life. Every decison I make could spell bad things...Like prom...well I think you all know about that....it is going to be awesome but at the same time I have to be aware about all of the little and the big decisons I make. When I was talking to the Airforce recruter I had to go through a series of questions...like do I have a kid, am I married, have I ever done any drugs, and so on....So I have to be just like a perfect kid until Febuary 1 of 2007. I really want to do this but I dont want to put anyones lives in my hands were it could come back at me and really hurt me in the long run. This is something that I want to do...I dont want to make some stupid decison and be done. My dad is really thinking of the long run for me....That is why I cant take anyone to prom....I am just about 900% sure I am not going to get into a series realtionship....just for that fact. If I go to do something wrong or you guys dont think I should do it....Tell me ASAP. Because I am only human just like the rest of you. I need to make sure that I am not stupid for one minute and screw my life up. So if you guys and girls dont mind...at least the ones who know me...make sure I dont do anything stupid...You will have my enternal thanks. It is really getting to me because everything I do I have to really think about....The stress is building on me and it will continue to build..so if I get mad or angry at you dont worry about it....Plus I am sorry if I do...I and not going to mean to but it is just really bugging me.

3. Don't have unprotected sex
4. Don't screw up in shop class and cut off body parts.

You can get into a serious relationship, dumbass...don't knock it till you try it.

NS38: The military does not expect perfection. Far from it. Tickets will not keep you from getting in. You'd have to do something pretty major (like getting a tattoo on your face) in order for them to reject you. You're in contact with your recruiter right now...you have already been tentatively accepted (correct?)...you are an average kid who stays out of trouble...you have very little to worry about.

Live your life as you've done for the past 18 years, and you'll be fine. Don't stress yourself.

It's admirable that you are taking it so seriously and have such high goals, but really...chill out. You're fine. You'll continue to be fine.

And as far as the relationship goes, wouldn't it be nice to get some sweet letters of encouragement from a pretty girl while you're in basic and AIT?

yeah but I want to be clean when I go in......I know it wont stop me from getting in but there is alot other stuff that will.....Thank you

you can't live your life in fear man... i'm not saying you should be reckless and act stupid, but at the same time you can't stress yourself out worrying about every little thing.

just do your best to make good decisions, but don't stop living your life for fear of screwing up... making mistakes is part of life and it happens to all of us.

i'm in the Air Force, and I can assure you that we do not expect perfection... we just ask that you do your best. Do you think living in constant fear of making a mistake qualifies as 'living your life to the fullest'?

Sweetie, you're getting yourself all worked up for nothing.
Traffic tickets will not stop you getting an enlistment. I know dudes who have tickets a'plenty, and they now have successful AF careers. I also know dudes who did a fair bit of dope before signing up....and they're now Senior NCO's.

Getting yourself all uptight like this will only give you burnout and a headache. Relax, and enjoy being young....and find a date for prom. It's only one night, it's not like you're getting engaged or anything!

Very, very true. I've had guys in my jail on serious dope possession charges that managed to finagle out of and into the military. Tickets won't hurt you.

Then what are you worried about?

All you have to do, sweetie, is be sensible. You know what's right and what's wrong.....you're obviously intelligent enough to have formed a plan for yourself, so do what your gut tells you. If you don't feel like you need to be somewhere, then remove yourself from that situation.

If you're worried about falling in love...well, love comes in all shapes and sizes and usually when we least expect it. All you can do sometimes is hang on for the ride....
