:HOT: Welcome to the home of Special Forces. :HOT:

We are an elite fighting unit committed to each other and ridding the Metaverse of alien fiends. Oh, and having a good time, drinking fine beverages and writing hopefully witty stuff. Our leader is whoever bought the last round of drinks, or whoever shot the last alien. We are...Very Special.

You better use your time to keep your team together, because Cotal is not going to stay with you for long time, and you will see that. There is no loyalty in her and as she sold out the ANZAC, Jedi's and many others she will do the same to you, just wait a little bit. By the way I am not interested in posting here anymore or even in talking trash about you, you are just a victim of the circumstances, one day when she drops your empire you will see that I was right. So goodbye.

Yawn. Am I the only one still awake? Fine, I'll have the first go at defusing the bomb...

By the way I am not interested in posting here anymore or even in talking trash about you

So, let me get this straight. You have no interest in talking trash here, but you call Jaws a milker, then say Cotal has no loyalty. That's trash talking in my book, and you're the one who needs to apologize. Where does Jaws say he's "some kind of God", anyway? Are you sure you're on the right thread?

You know what? Some of BlueSteel's posts in the past really irritated me, but at least I could understand why he was doing it - to put the ANZACs back together. That's not a bad goal. Now, tell me what you hope to achieve with your posts beyond simple shit-stirring.

Oh, wait, I missed the most important part.

I am not interested in posting here anymore

Cotal Ginata. Thanks for the thoughtful response. It was very nice of you to put it on the FotR thread so I would find it. But, I could have come over here too because it's only a short distance to your empire's thread. Wonder how close anyone can get the huge/maso to 60k? Thanks again. :D

Good morning everybody anothe beautiful day in Sydney.. I'm sorry guys that I sparked him off again.. it's due to a post in the MWC thread..

So if you'll indulge me I feel the need to respond to this nasty talk. After reading #649 I was trembling with fear, woudl all my dark secrets come tumbling out the cupboards...

But no it was this.

What do you think, because you found some cheese way to milk the Metaverse you are some kind of God
End of quote

Im very flattered that you think of me in that way, but I would never consider myself to God-like.. I'm very mortal much like yourself. However, I suspect I am a little more stable.

And there you have it.. With him gone it does mean our thread will increase at a much slower rate but at least it will be of better quality.

I know.. It was amazing... The atmosphere at the Rocks was brilliant.. they had a huge screen at one end and the people stretched all the way back to the Orient Hotel..

Decided to watch the 2nd half in the Observer... It was a great evening.. Just hoping the boys in white can do their thing tonight.

Well my powers of prediction are woeful. I watched the game with several Brits (who were supporting the All Blacks) and their faces when the Wallabies won... They were not looking forward to going to work on Monday and having to deal with their Aussie workmates. Especially, of course, if England doesn't win tonight!!!!! Everyone I have spoken to now wants England to be in the Final, perhaps because we love our English mates...I dunno.

Hey! Rugby? College football? You'd think this was a weekend or something...wait a minute. What day is it, and how much did I drink?

Episode II of the latest saga is going to be slightly delayed - my desktop PC is a bit hosed at the moment, and typing a long story on a laptop keyboard is too bloody awkward. BTW, that also takes away my email address book and Internet favorites list - so if one of you guys can forward me the old email with the hyperlink to Quack's site, I'd appreciate it.

Just sent ya an email, samurai. I forgot to say how much I loved those last few stories!
LOL LOL LOL

I'm trying something a bit different for my next one :)

Samurai Ben: Are you SURE it's a good idea doing a mission to the Jedis?

Sure? Of COURSE I'm not sure. Hence the disclaimer. :HOT:

Quack, I got the email - thanks for the info. Switching horses - er, PCs - in midstream is always a pain. Looking forward to your next installment myself.

An MM77 concert tour....yes, has potential... ;)

Great writing Samurai!

GO WALLABIES!!! The Aussie defence never gave the All Blacks a chance! (I wish I knew more about college football...I just got over celebrating Florida whacking the Yankees in the World Series....)

Gone but not for long. :D :D :D My apologies to everybody, you caught me in a bad moment, whatever I said was pure nonsense, my apologies and if you wish I will not post more here. (:(

Jedi Captain Mayito, we all have bad hair days and can all write things that we would rather we had not. But you seem to be having a few too many 'bad moments' lately. You obviously enjoy Galcivia and chatting to people, so don't burn those bridges. In my experience, things written in anger never lead to positive results.

Yes you are absolutely right, my frustrations should not be taken with other players, I am sorry that I acted so shameful. My apologies to everyone and enjoy a good game, specially Cotal, I can't wait to see her beat the 1 million point barrier. Good game to all. Signing out.

OK, this is getting ridiculous...!

With the main PC out of commission, I thought I'd take a break from writing and finish up my latest game on the laptop. Really a bizarre and fun game - I wound up getting an Alliance win, despite the fact that the Yor and Altarians were still at war. Thought that couldn't happen until peace was active...

Anyway, tried to submit the game, and it reported successful. It's nowhere to be seen on the Metaverse.

Between this and the anomalous Maso win of a couple weeks ago, I'm starting to wonder what's going on. It can't be my PCs, unless they BOTH have defective copies of GalCiv! That's 35-45K Mverse points lost! Argh!

Mayito - I for one certainly don't mind if you stop by, as long as you stay polite. Disagreements are fine; character attacks are not only out of place, but really spoil the atmosphere for everybody else.

If a criticism of another person goes past a certain level, whoever is doing the talking sounds an awful lot like a troll. That leads to flame wars and a general bad time for everybody.

For a long time, I thought Pontius' criticisms fell into that category. After bumping into him in GalCiv Chat one night, I started paying closer attention to his posts. And while I still disagreed with a lot of his opinions, I could see that he backed them up with facts and was objecting to BEHAVIOR; he wasn't attacking people. Well, except for some of his stories, anyway, but that's another topic. :)

So, it's possible for people's opinions to change. Just remember that if you've caused them pain in the past, they're going to be examining every word you say for another slam; so it may take some time to build a new reputation.

So, if you want to stop by to say hello, you're welcome. If you want to have a constructive discussion, again, stop by anytime, WITH your facts. But please don't "flame on" for the hell of it.

P.S. Pontius, yer a lovable old curmudgeon! I always picture you as looking something like Andy Sipowicz from "NYPD Blue" with a pirate hat... :HOT:

“So what is the raison d’etre of the Special Forces?”

“So what is the raison d’etre of the Special Forces?” asked the European Alliance diplomat.

Wild peered at the diplomat uncertainly.

“The purpose. Its goals”.

“Ah. Well, perhaps before I answer your question I should show you the Forces. Fortunately, tonight our entertainment officer has organized a rather fun evening. We’ve been looking forward to this for some weeks”.

The diplomat shook hands with the entertainment officer and then Wild escorted the diplomat around the SF café. The café was full and filled with good cheer. They stopped at a group.

“I spy with my little eye something that begins with…K”, said Ginata.
Killa screwed his face up thoughtfully. “Curry?”
“No”.
“Cumquat?” offered Harel.
“No”.
“Culture?” said Piers.
“Close, but no”.
The diplomat rolled his eyes, and said “Let me have a go… koala?”
“Correct!”
“Well that was a short game” mumbled Killa with just a hint of huffiness.

Wild and the diplomat strolled on. “Killa is our ‘I Spy’ master” Wild murmured to the diplomat softly. “Don’t mind him, he hates losing. And here is some sushi. Would you like some?”

“Merci. And what do we have here?”

Black smoke placed a cup of steaming tea in front of Hurley. Hurley, wearing a blindfold, picked up the cup and sniffed the steam. With a practiced hand he waved the steam under his nose with a gentle motion. “Ah ha. I was thinking Formosan or Darjeeling. But no, too much tannin. Now for a quick sip”. He sipped the tea and then spat into a spittoon. “Definitely Sri Lankan. Mmm. It’s brawny and crisp. That screams Kandy, and suggests almost definitely the eastern quarter”.
“The side of the hill?”
“May I take my blindfold off?”
“Certainly”
“Oh, look at that stunning orange liquor. Has to be the west side, close to the peak”.
“Excellent. Spot on”.
There was polite applause.

“This is our board games corner. For the more cerebral Forces members”.
The diplomat chuckled. “But I love board games. I shall play one of these later tonight most certainly!”
Quack looked up with a slight frown. “Wild, is en a word?”
“Of course, it’s narrower than an em”.
“Ah yes. Forgot. Well, I place the word ‘zolaesque’ and I’m out”.
“How did you know that word Quack?” muttered Cypher. “Anyway, a bet is a bet. Here’s your dollar”.
“Ah, make it best out of twelve?” queried Samurai Ben with a slight quaver in his voice.
Quack nodded eagerly. “Sure thing”.

The café was filled with conversation. Groans of dismay, squeals of horror, chortles of accomplishment, gasps of amazement. The diplomat turned to Wild with a smile. “I begin to see”.
“Snap!”
“Gee you’re quick”
“I thought you would after you met everyone” said Wild.
“Legs eleven, number eleven, legs eleven”.
“I place the word ‘seminiferous’”.
The diplomat nodded. “Your raison d’etre is to have a good fun time with like minded mates in a relaxed atmosphere!”
“Bingo!”

You got it in one, Killa :)

Mayito - stop by any time; we're reasonable people. Now, you know what we feel is reasonable, and what we feel is out of line, that's all. ;)
