Any advice for Sysmetrix "appcompat.txt" error?

I was really enjoying the various displays, skins and functions of Sysmetrix during the two weeks it was working perfectly for me. Last week though, for a reason or reasons that I can't determine, when I would right-click on the program or the System Tray icon, I'd receive the notification that Sysmetrix had caused an error and needed to close with the following specification: C:\Docume~1\"username"\Locals~1\Temp\3a10-appcompat.txt.

I've google-searched "appcompat.txt" and found numerous listings but no clear explanation of where it comes from or what can be done about it.

I've uninstalled and redownloaded Sysmetrix 5 times now only to get the same error message. A System Restore back to a date when it was working fine had no effect on correcting it and I was very surprised that this wasn't the solution.

So, I'm lost. (Sounds like a good name for a TV show. ) I'd very much like to use Sysmetrix again and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just the same problem here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even aint got any error messege, only an error sound and sysmetrix goes crash everytime I right click on it. Hope somebody already solved this priblem, please reply if you experienced same problems

I'm sorry others are having this problem, too. At the same time, I take a little comfort that I'm not the only one. Since my first post, I've tried a couple of more things to no effect and as a last resort emailed the author on Feb. 1st. I've not heard from him, though.

During the time it was crashing repeatedly, I 'accidently' right-clicked on it and ... it worked. So, that makes it more confusing that it would be okay, as you say RTCP, "now and then".

I've since uninstalled Sysmetrix and can only think to redownload it if and when there's a future update/build. It's a shame because I really enjoyed using it.

I stopped using sysmetrix about a year ago for the same reason. Maybe its system related and not program related. Others have no problems with it but it just never worked right for me. Right click crash was the only problem I was having. I figured that the newer version may have fixed it but I never got around to giving it a try.

Ok, because I didnt wanted to give up of this app, I tryed one more thing after unsuccessful uninstals and instals of v.3.24. And it works!!!! Yeah, maybe it will not be a solution for you, but I simply cant live without sys metrix so I m happy it works now. I did the following thing:

1. uninstalled version 3.24
2. rebooted
3. installed the older VERSION 3.20 (avalaible on their web site too) lol

It never crashed since that time. I can right click it whenever I want, it works well. I didnt find big differences between these two versions, so its ok for me. Maybe its not a good solution for you to revert back to older version, but I just wanted to let you know, it works for me that way.

I had the same right-click problem after updating WindowBlinds. Sysmetrix v.3.24 only works for me after uninstalling WB 4.50 release and reinstalling Sysmetrix. I hope someone figures out what the conflict is, but until then I'll use Sysmetrix lay off WB for a time.

Running Win2000 sr4 on a G-force FX3200.

That might be the reason Jasky. Me, I installed Windows Blins release 4.50 too few days ago, and the sysmetrix problem came those days.
