Bar Fight
.. with stupid people.

I just got back from a bar with some of my friends. We'd been at the bar a good hour or two when suddenly we're approached by 3 males, who accuse my friend of looking at one of their girlfriends in a "too suggestive" way. My friend apolagizes, stating he didn't know she was his girlfriend and all etc etc... and they leave and we go back to our drinking and laughing at each other.
About 1 hour later, we're again confronted by these 3 guys, stating that our friend had cornered the woman and 'suggested intimate things'..... My friend looked at them, and said that the guys girlfriend is lying or they are making up stories because he never did such a thing. That's when the brawl started. I remember seeing the guy's who approached the table all jump at my friend and start throwing fists. Never the type of people to abandon our friend, everyone at the table jumped at the 3 guys. Punches flew, kidney's were kicked and I'm now going to be sporting a nice black eye, and ample bruises in the morning...
Now I'm left to think through this lovely night. Why are people such idiots? I'm hoping it was just the alchohol that was in some of them... I don't know though... I doubt that my friend did such a thing as they claim.. .He's not the type to do that at all.. especially because I KNOW he's very dedicated to his girlfriend....
So this makes me wonder about the other guys motives. Assuming I'm right (which I do like to believe i am
), that would mean someone had to make up this story... What purpose was there to all this? Did the girl want to play games with the guy and see if she could have him try to beat up some other guy? Was the guy just out looking for a fight to get into? I know some guys are like that, and love a good scrap...
*sigh* I've never figured out the reason for fights like that. It seems totally pointless, because nothing at all was accomplished.. well cept that we had to bail from the drinking establishment or face criminal charges... (nothing was broken, and it broke up somewhat quick... the owner just threatened cop involvement if we didn't clear the premises immediately)... Nothing was achieved through it from my perspective though. I guess maybe the 3 guys feel different though.... Maybe they found some fleeting sense of honor for 'defending' a lady. I guess I can't much argue with that... other than I feel it in my gut that it was all based on lies.
And one other point, what idiot puches someone else in the head?? Any smart fighter will tell you that you are a lot more likely to do more damage to yourself (break a hand..) than to the person you hit. It's kinda like the Vanity hit of fighting... "I hate you enough to hit the strongest bones in your body!" Maybe I'm just going off on this little tangent because I was stupid enough to hit someone's elbow with my face....
