Taken095 and Aligning to desktop

Hi, I'm new to these forums and i d/loaded the Taken 095 DesktopX theme and converted the icons and all was well. It's an excellent theme but every time I restart the theme all the icons are automatically aligned to desktop and thus out of place. I manually put them back into place the first time and saved again but on a restart they wer out of place again! I also used Killer To-do object and on a restart all the to do info is lost. Can anyone help me as to how to permantly keep my settiongs as it is no use to have to rearrange stuff every time I switch on my comp. Also, I was using one of the Weather checkers and as I'm in Ireland I used the option "Dublin,Ireland" as opposed to a Zip Codeand it loaded fine. However on a restart of the theme I keep getting a Zipcode error also. Any way around this? Many thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!
Sincerely,
Quintron

You have asked a lot of detailed questions that I think might be better answered at the DesktopX newsgroup. As far as the weather object, I suggest you contact the author of that object. For the icon problem, I suggest that you right click your desktop, without DesktopX running, and remove the checks for aligning the icons to the grid and remove auto arrange too. It is Windows that is rearranging your desktop because you have these checks in place. I use DesktopX and I have none of the problems that you have mentioned. Good Luck.

Don't turn your computer off all the time, just log off... I promise it won't hurt anything...

Quintron - I use the todo list and it retains the info between sessions. Whenever I shutdown my pc I always unload dx manually before I do so. I started doing this mainly because I found that sometimes my system would hang otherwise, however it might contribute to dx "remembering" the persist storage variables (as used in the todo list). Weather objects generally also use persist storage variables to store the location data. Worth giving it a shot anyway...

After you have setup your desktop....save it as a new DX theme and the icons should stay in place....like ChasUGC....I have no issues with moving icons

Once you have it the way u want it save the theme and also that always happens with weather objects when you save or restart
just re-enter the zip (when you actually start up your coputer it will aumatically use your zip if you saved it
