Not bad for an ex-cancer sufferer....then there's Tyler Hamilton with 2 fractures to the collar bone....never stopped him, though...

I don't like Jan Ulrich very much, but I have great respect for him sports-wise after all he has gone through also...

He's tied the Big Mig's record... but will he break it?

Doomgaze....I'm sure he will try...and I for one will like him to succeed..

It seems we Aussies have a strangle hold on the points race....we have some seriously talented sprinters.....those guys are BRAVE...

Australia has certainly made its presence felt over the last few years....hopefully more to come....

Having watched the tour for many years now, I'm not so sure Armstrong will be able to break the record. Being that I'm not sure he has the energy to do it again, although willpower and heart can sometimes overcome that.

I'd like to see some other Mig's other records not only in the tour but other races even brought up for contention. The man was a complete robot/unstoppable in his day.

Alot of energy/life goes into it and after even 3 or 4, alot of racers are totally burned out. After 5, god knows whats left of you.

Armstrong 'cheated' in that he concentrated his whole cycling effort on the Tour, unlike the Mercx and Anquetils of the past who contested Giros and full seasons of cycling....and the Tour was just one race of many.

Indurain always amazed me with his static heart rate of 28 and a pot-belly look caused by organ displacement due to his huge cardio-vascular capacity...
