Retribution Expansion Does'nt Appear in my Game

The game in my steam account shows that the Ret. DLC has been downloaded and the game is updated; but it doesn't appear in any of the game menus. Nor can I access it or see the new images/tech etc. I've done a file verification check but nothing changes. Can anyone advise me as to why this is happening and what I can do next?

First, are you using the opt-in? Don't think that's causing it, but it might force Steam to download files it didn't.

If that doesn't work go to steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\Tools and run EverythingButCampaignData.bat

Thanks for the tips Rhonin, I tried all your suggestions and they didn't alleviate the issue/problem. I also did the local files verification, and previously enabled the "Opt-In" in the updates...every other expansion has worked fine so not sure what is causing this now. Would be nice to be able to access it.

This is odd, for some people it seems the expansion is not being installed properly by Steam. I'll report it to the devs when they arrive at the office.

In the meantime could you check if your antivirus might be blocking it from installing?

According to my steam account it has the Retribution expansion as down loaded, right there along with all the other expansions...its just not showing  up in the game menu. So I'm almost certain that it isn't a antivirus issue....

Greetings - If you go to Steam\steamapps you should see a file called appmanifest_226860.acf.  Could you send that to [email protected]?  Thanks in advance.

If you look at Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\DLC is there in fact a EXP4_Retribution folder there, with files in it?  If there is, can you please send us your debug.err?  It'll be in your My Games\GC3Crusade if you have Crusade or My Games\GalCiv3 if you don't.

OK, judging by this line in your debug.err, Steam has not downloaded all the necessary files:

Debug Message: Version 3.01, Build #10707, last updated on: 05-02-2018 16:02

Basically, your exe was not updated, and there could be others as well.

Have you excluded your steamapps folder from any anti-virus/security programs that you have running?  Are you running Steam as an admin? Check both of those and then try verifying the file integrity again.

If that doesn't work, you will have to un-install GalCiv3, delete any remaining files (make sure that Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_226860.acf is deleted also) and then re-install.

If that still doesn't work, you will need to contact Steam support for further help.
