Missing Executable

The game is released, not beta anymore, and I've removed it, reinstalled it, deleted my savegame files, and looked all over my HD.

after I click "play game" it seems to go in and re-validate my local files. eventually it comes up and lets me click Play Game, but....

"An erroor occoured while updating Star Control: Origins (Missing Executable)"

The game launches on September 20th. The Fleet Battles beta has also ended in anticipation for the launch.

Hi

I have the exact same problem too.  Why is Starcontrol Origins on Steam when we can't even play it? I have also installed uninstalled and reinstalled steam and followed there troubleshooting steps.  

Will this automatically start working on September 20th?  If not do we have to do something special to get it working?

Please let me know.  Just excited to play a beta or something since I just got a windows 10 computer that can run it.

You might want to find someone who can poke GOG and let them know about this. I just launched the fleet battles chunk a bit ago.

I was looking for the other beta 'chapters' mentioned elsewhere, which I never saw on GOG. Some other post I forgot to quote makes me think the GOG beta offerings stopped at fleet battles, but maybe I just missed them and it shrank back to fleet battles instead of closing down entirely?
