Retrofitting & Ship Designs

Please add an option to retrofit ships in the shipyard, and the ability in the ship designer to group a class of ships together that I see happens with some of the core vessels. The little yellow arrow that can expand to show improved designs. (Not the one that separates missile, kinetic, beam, mission, etc but is underneath some individual ships).

When I design a class of ship I want be able to click on that ship class and have the varying options I have designed and have available open under neath it.

Right now I have so many ship classes and designs and configurations for different points in the game that it is a mess to look through and prior to starting a new game I open the file in my galciv folder that holds all my designs and delete them. It is so much easier just to do it all again as I go.

This is desperately needed. Both in terms of ship designed ships in the general sense, but also when attaching limited use upgrade precursor elements to a single ship.

It's a bit ridiculous to have to design a whole new ship in order to incorporate a single precursor missile pod I get from an event where I chose pragmatic or benevolent from a precursor site or planet.

I should be able to retrofit a current ship and just add on the precursor weapon.

Also, precursor weapons really need to get more advantage for their respective categories. Currently, I have that precursor missile pod and a couple others, but they're all outclassed by later tech by the time I was motivated enough to open up the ship designer and learn how to attach them. At the very least, they should have uniquely reduced mass, so that there's a good chance you can toss one of these weapons on an existing ship.
