Hoverdesk?

It's a desktop replacement like DX.
It doesn't do the extensive scripting stuff that DX can do, but it's a great prog.
Can also be run as a very quick shell, although you lose the systray, as it's not being developed to run as a shell yet.

I use it, I love it!

There's no point to running them together.

How does it improve on DesktopX or does it? - What are it's good points?

HvD is more user friendly for new users, but DX is more configurable and has the scripting support.
I have both here, and I'd be hard pressed to pick one over the over really.
Only swaying factor is that while DX has more themes available, the graphics quality of the HvD ones are much better.

~ I love Hoverdesk!!! New themes are hard to come by right now because everyone is waiting for the newest release which is in development right now. Once it's released, I'm sure we'll see lots of new themes. I give it 2 thumbs up and recommend it highly. It's definitely worth checking out! Besides, if Treetog and Hippy use it, you know you can expect some pretty awesome themes!!!

Hmm, can HVD use zoomers ?

HVD 3.0 can. supports PNG, ICO and bitstrip animations.



and btw: LiteStep could use them even before DesktopX/Verona Desktop Enhancer.
