Win on an Insane Map Steam achievement

What size is "Insane" in Crusade, for purposes of getting the Steam Achievement?   Ludicrous?   I already won on Milky Way campaign map, and didn't get it.

I certainly don't want to take on a big game only to not get it.   thanks!

Good question!  When the game shipped there was a galaxy size named Insane, and at some point it disappeared.  I got the achievement long ago, so I can't try it again.  But best of luck getting someone who can to answer your question, I'm interested in the answer.

Well I got a reply from support@stardock from a guy named Brad.  They suggest uninstalling Crusade to get the achievement.    I don't see what the big deal is, just to make sure it works on Ludicrous.  But I did get a reply from support.

Need to finish Ludicrous map anyway, to get the 10 core detonations achievement.

I am happy to say, if you win on Ludicrous, you do get the Insane-map Steam achievement (i.e. "Trying to Prove Something" achievement).

Thank goodness.  I would have been ticked.

How many Brads does Starbrad have? :P

I'm having an ohmigosh-I -just-finished-ludicrous moment right now.   Was not very fun at the end, mostly because the computer was too slow.  But was fun at the beginning when you do all the exploring.

My manufacturing capital was cranking 5000 production per turn and could recruit a citizen every turn, without any mods, cheats or specialists.  4000 shipyard production, when the most expensive carrier I could build was only 2500.

I'm finding micromanagement to be a real pain on larger maps.

I show Insane as an option on my 2.3.3 client, but it's disabled.  Likely it senses that 4GB is planet class 4 nowadays...

Ah, the glory days of 2.33.   :)    How's this world?

My star world on a ludicrous map.  Producing >5000 social construction, 4000 ship construction in one turn.   Producing Recruit Citizen every turn.

No specialists, no mods.
