Gog Updates Question

Hi,

I have a question about GOG updates.

I check on GOG periodically or when I hear news about an update to Escalation and download from their website.  However I noticed that they usually re-release the entire game to download for each update and they don't keep a history of patches even if they do release one.

It's ridiculous to have to download the entire game for every patch (about 15 GB).  I know there is a GOG client, but if I wanted to use steam, I would have.  I like downloading patches for my games, not the entire 15 or so GB every time.  The full game is useful to download once in a while to avoid having to run 20 patches after install, but not for incremental updates.

This seems to be a general issue with GOG and I'm wondering 2 things.

1) What do other people do who buy games from GOG

2) Could the developers ask GOG to release patches and allow downloading previous patches for the game.  Do the developers even release patches to GOG?  Is this a stardoc or a GOG issue?  In any case, it would be much appreciated if Stardoc could ask GOG to allow downloading previous patches and to provide patches.

Do you use GOG Galaxy? I've found it's a very useful client for downloading updates.

I prefer to download the updates directly.  I don't like installing another client like steam.  I went to Gog to get DRM free and avoid clients lol.

The games are still DRM free. It's just more convenient to allow it to patch rather than doing it manually.
