Population of Transport (or Colony) ship???

How can you tell the population of a transport or colony ship?

Too often when I get going I create a lot of transports, and sometimes they leave port empty, is there a way to check this after it has left shipyard or orbit?

Most of the ship info screens its missing..... however, when you hover the mouse pointer over the ship (dont click on it), that auto into that comes up, miraculously tells you the population!
