Visual bug - help please

Rather frequently these days I get a visual bug I would call "Exploding black bubbles". Wherever something related to lighting is happening these bubbles would appear around it and flicker with rather high frequency. Once it starts to happen it does not go away and I have to restart Ashes.

Windows 7 64 bit, i5 2500k, radeon r9 270, 16 gb ddr3 is my config. I have ashes configured at low settings.

Any suggestions what causes the problem and how to fix/avoid would be appreciated.

Any chance you could put up a screenshot or video? Might help the devs.

Looks like either lack of VRAM, or driver bugs.

Hey I have the same problem with my game. Also getting lots of game freezes, but when it works ok I get lots of lighting glitches like your video is showing.

I have a R9 280x (win10 16gb ram i7- 4790)wonder if its an AMD thing. Also sometimes get black or fuzzy squares in certain parts of the screen no matter what the graphics are on the screen at the time.

But these lighting glitches are the most common. Have fiddled with the graphics setting up and down to no avail.

You solved it yet?

I have other artifacts in the game and I invested other artifacts in other games as well which I do not have with my Intel HD Graphics or my GTX 770 and now I have crashes in different games. I am sending my card back at the moment. I have a r9 390x. If I enable Powerefficiency in the AMD driver I have less artifacts but more stutter. At all really disappointing.

With that card, turning off MSAA may get rid of some of those fuzzy squares you are seeing. This topic was covered a lot in a Steam thread a while back and one of the Devs said they would fix that and it would be in the next patch. If it is the same thing then it is a shame it isn't fixed yet. Perhaps forgotten about or perhaps harder to fix that initially thought.

Thanks for the reply, I will try the MSAA turning off, I think I'm running 4x at the moment.

Shame though, smooths over the graphics, got the same in MechWarrior, but subsequent patches have seemed to improve the running of that game a lot, though its been awhile. In mechwar I used to get those weird and extremely annoying vector point graphics glitches which I have seen once in Ashes as well, but upgrading the radeon settings drivers seemed to have calmed that down.

At the campaign end game now at least, and have never tried multiplayer yet as It would be annoying to continuously not make it through games for opponents, shame but until its moderately stable on the game freezing I'm unfortunately loathe to try, which makes half the game (and fun) I cant partake in.

Thanks again for the replies.
