A Very Important Version

We've just updated next_version with the one that we are sending out to the press for reviews. We would definitely appreciate if people are willing to give it a try tonight and tomorrow to find out if there are any showstoppers in that version. Thanks - you guys are awesome!

I knew this would happen when I started another Guru run.

Haha, don't think we broke saves though.

So, I "captured" the neutral colony and ran into an interesting bug. Apparently, if the last tile next to a colony goes up for auction and you upgrade the colony mid-auction you'll get a combo tile with both the newly purchased colony building and your auctioned building overlapping each other.

Wow, the new campaign looks really nice.

A few suggestions:
1) I couldn't find where to change the difficulty for the campaign. Is this an option? If so it might need to be more obvious

2) Unable to save multiple campaign attempts (someone's mentioned this before but worth repeating as it is pretty important)

3) Occasionally when you beat a campaign level it comes up with the message "your lawyer has discovered a new patent" or something along those lines. You can then select 1 of 2 patents you'd like, however it only says the name of the patent, not what it does. (experienced players will know what all the patents do, but newbies won't so it would be nice to have the description in the selection box).

Hi Soren,

There's an option when setting up a campaign that says something like 'Sim non-AI Missions', or perhaps the tooltip does.

Shouldn't that be AI-only missions? (As I assume that it means it's simulating in greater detail the missions I'm not involved with while I'm playing my map.)

If it doesn't mean that, you probably need a better tooltip, as the option is a giant mystery to me.

I've found some confusing inconsistencies.

The "Oxygen" icon has been updated on the resource bar but not in the description for buildings. This makes it hard to keep track of which resource is meant, visually. http://i.imgur.com/CvDgjee.png

When hovering over the bar of colony needs in campaign mode, it refers to "housing modules," but when hovering over the actual modules they're referred to as "habitation." http://i.imgur.com/kzznYiF.png

The intro to campaign has some typos. Incorrect "a": http://i.imgur.com/YDqU11h.png Using singular "bonus" when it means "bonuses" (and missing a comma after "finally"): http://i.imgur.com/Seg8bqh.png

I think it's pretty weird that the campaign makes you choose between patents without telling you what they actually do, even for beginning players. http://i.imgur.com/jQwAUjR.png

I sent an two tickets to StarDock with edits to the Learn to Play missions (as Island Dog recommended), but I didn't get a response to the second ticket.

More feedback:

The loading screens contain a lot of cool text, details on the map, etc. I think these are great, pretty, and good for new players to read.

My computer loads the map faster than I can read this screen! Can you add a 'tap space bar to continue' here? Or at least add this as an option? Otherwise these screens are rather jarring, containing lots of information I have no way of accessing.

When I mouseover an Offworld Market building, the tooltip says "Launch your electronics to Earth and the asteroid belt...". Should it say something other than electronics, since you can ship a variety of things?

I can't seem to get the "view tile" button to work during auctions. I have no idea where the tile I'm bidding on is.
