Fleets Being Automatically Renamed? Help!

Hey guys,

First time poster here, but huge Gal Civ III fan. I was wanting to know if there was any solution to probably my biggest annoyance in the game. I like to rename my larger fleets to something like 1st Fleet or Death Squad or something like that but whenever I add a new ship to the fleet the game will automatically rename it to something generic like Terran Fleet 4628 . Is there any way to keep the game from overwriting it like that?

Very annoying isn't it!  "Is there any way to keep the game from overwriting it like that? "  NO.  This has been posted several times, do not recall seeing a SD responce

Thanks for the response! Yes, it is very frustrating indeed. It is odd there is no way to turn this off. I would even be willing to edit XML files or something if there was a way to do it. I hope Stardock plans to fix this in the near future.

+1 Agreed, makes finding fleets on larger maps harder.

This has been an issue since day one. It has not been addressed. As far as we know it is not going to be.

Renaming fleets is just another cool feature that you aren't allowed to use.
