Having issues with FPS, my I5, and R9390

Hi,

I was wondered what do you recommned as the ideal settings for this game with my new i5 and R9390

I can not remember what I have done, but I am getting 30 FPS now on high, and extreme.

Also, is this game meant to be played on extreme?

I liked High shadow quality as I tend to find that units flicker, and so do buildings in the benchmark.

But the gameplay looks fine

I would like to see an FPS counter option.

Before, i was getting 51 with my i3.

Any thoughts .. Not sure what is happening. Maybe driver, system setting.

I am going to buy all AMD CPU, and Mobo next year, but until them..

Some guidance please.

I do not know, but yeh.. I am having fun playing this game, and sure as hell the Shadows, and stuff do not flicker like me NVIDIA.

The game is meant to be played on what ever settings works on your system, and the size of maps you intend to play on.

The game isn't in Beta yet, and will have a lot of bugs and performance issues. Was the 30FPS in DX11 or DX12?

If you have had a drop in performance after changing your CPU, it would seem logical that that would be the first place to look.

Have you checked your system temperatures?

Check you have V-Sync off. If it is on and you are not reaching 60FPS it may be putting you down to 30.

You should really post specifics for this kind of post.  There are faster i3's than some i5's, for all we know you switched from a dual 3.5Ghz i3 to a dual 2.5Ghz i5 with hyper-threading and you've actually got a much slower processor that can't feed the gpu as well.

Agreed, i5 is not always better than i3, more information would have been helpful. I doubt that either processor would be the limiting factor in the AotS benchmark. However, this continued on with another thread.

The low FPS benchmarks showed that the graphics settings had been changed, which would have reduced the FPS and would not be a suitable comparison.

Yeh.

You right, there is no diff with the app on.. other than the change in setting. I re did the benchmark with terrain on high.

i made a mistake with the benchmark

Thanks for the link Kazzergian

I did post pictures previously of my I#, but I took them down.

i enjoy the constant FPS with AMD.

When I had my Geforce, everything flickered all the time, and the FPS was really bad.

i would like to know what is the best appearance setting and 60 FPS
