When will the sky stop falling?

When will the sky stop falling?

Really.

Everyday there is some bad news, scandal, or tragedy on a global level. How are we all not dead yet with so many nuclear, bio,  chemical, cyber, and mechanical weapons win the hands of maniacs as well? Worst of all; we are the cause of our own problems, and continue to have as many screw ups as successes at everything we do. So how long will it be until the sky actually does fall for real this time, I am tired of waiting? ;)

Quoting admiralWillyWilber,

Now if we are not talking about rich, but 210 elite people who are not one government has already stated that they want to lower the population from 7 billion to 1 billion not because of over population which is one of there schemes, but it is easier to control. Another scheme is to declare us zombies so they can slaughter us even if I'm waiting for the zombie apocalypse. At the same time they want to drug, or poison the survivors so they can be controlled better that is why there is so many phychosis. We think they don't want us on drugs when they actually do. Those guys we need to watch out for not the rich. Those guys are pro feudalism where the rich are pro democracy. These guys would rather distract you with other stuff, and are not loyal to one country, but are loyal to themselves.

Scary!

And turn us all into mindless drones subservient to the state. Glad I won't be here to see such a thing or any equivalent.

Without rich people the middle class would never have existed. Without the middle class we would still be feudalistic, and most of the wealth in our country is in the middle class.

Not anymore: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/12/10/middle-class-americans-no-longer-majority.html

The recovery's been a complete bust. Can't wait for new policies to get wages, jobs, economy, and truly useful capital flowing again.

If you want a glimpse into your probable future, try looking into the past via a Science Fiction writer named John Brunner.  The book "Stand on Zanzibar" was written in 1969 about the year 2010 and contains many eerily correct predictions and relevant commentaries.  This link lists the details better than I could.  His  book "The Sheep Look Up" more directly addresses this thread topic and shows how Mother Nature's drastic solution to the environmental problems might match the computer models all too well.  A third book, "The Shockwave Rider" hints at some of the cyber mania of today and is very relevant considering the vast changes in that area of technology and sociology.  The main character does code like Beethoven/Mozart used to write music, first time perfect.  Interesting concept for computer geeks.  All in all, sci-fi writing that successfully bridges the years and addresses topics like this one in narratively creative and still relevant ways.

Talk about scary stuff, this guy shows that much of what we seem surprised at has been obviously brewing all along. and what the possible consequences are, both good and bad.  It sometimes makes me despair whether we will actually survive ourselves.  If you find yourself interested, be aware that it is fairly dense and complex narration with a lot of presentation flair, but it is fun and witty about it while being wild and artsy.
