The Economic System Should Be Changed to Be Like Dwarf Fortress. Fun Comes from Challenges.

It would also be more realistic.  And add flavor to the game.  Instead of trying to specialize and min-max your planets to 100% efficiency, the goal instead would be to stop your idiotic people from creating economic crashes every 20 turns or so.  To quote:

First devised by its two obsessive creators in 2002, Dwarf Fortress involves taking a band of dwarves and building them into a miniature civilization. This includes all the implied strategy and resource management: assigning jobs, collecting and storing goods, building and using structures, and eventually defending yourself against other civilizations. In a profile of the game’s co-creators, theNew York Times described Dwarf Fortress as “a series of staggeringly elaborate challenges and devastating setbacks.”

I would also like this, but it comes down to how players play. Some enjoy challenge, while others enjoy building something. I can understand both points of view.

I haven't played Dwarf Fortress and only know it by reputation, but please don't turn my 4x into a rogue-like. The market is over-saturated with those as it is.

The (some) play depth of Dwarf fortress in Gal civ 3...
You can make a incredible fortress, but still losing ? ..is it because you are not playing to the fullest or the AI comes with a incredible fantasy (born in the world somewhere )monster in DF what is unstoppable?

http://lazynewbpack.com/  ..use this starterpack for playing with DF and look at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGB6RkFB7ZmNbSUujzXbgNjJi_-WHTTTD  for in case you are tired of playing with calciv3

d = designate ..use a lot for labor with nature material ( chop tree, dig , stairs , ramps, etc) and  ) ..start with wagon with 6 dwarfs and pets, liquer and assign some points for the initial setup..  Shift +> or < for underground and tree leveling
The goal in Dwarf Fortress is : protect the dwarfs and make (keep) them happy !
