Production wheel shifts?

Is it just me, or does the production wheel shift a couple of degrees when you re-load a game? I've seen this in 4-5 games now; at first I was just dismissing it as me being careless, but I'm starting to suspect that, after leaving the wheel on 100% manu and then reloading, it sometimes moves a a little toward economic.

Am I just sloppy? :P I usually set the global wheel to 100% manu and then just change colonies to the 'right' setting once they've finished building, and it's the default planets using the global wheel that seem to be off... but I can't be sure it's not just me leaving it wrong the previous time.

Even reload isn't necessary. You got those shifts even while playing normally.

I have interpreted it being some kind of rounding error that happens when your base production changes enough for some reason, most often because of population growth. Haven't investigated it in real, though, as it's more of an annoyance. I'm not that perfectionist and so 99.5% is "good enough".

You don't exactly have to squeeze out every last drop to beat the current AI... :)

I've noticed this drift as well.  It can happen immediately too, even in the same turn if you set it, leave and go back to it.  After a few turns, it can be farther off than rounding can account for.  It must be a combination of rounding errors and changes due to pop growth or whatever.

As Petri Kokko said, it's not really a big deal though.

Yeah, I get it too. It makes me think that I accidentally clicked on the wheel and moved it briefly, but after carefully checking, it was just slightly shifting on its own.

Yeah, I'm not so worried about it damaging my in-game performance. Just wanted confirmation that it was genuinely happening and I'm not going crazy more than anything else.

You still may be going crazy.  This is just not one of the symptoms.

I've been spreadsheeting the technology tree for the past 3 hours. I'm pretty much approaching dribbling loon stage.
