Balance

  • New City Improvement "Destiny's Flame" for all cities to reduce the doomsday counter

  • Number of monsters the SK can spawn is increased by the # of shards destroyed.

  • Varied up the SK monster composition a bit to be less repetitive.

  • Monster units get 1 XP per turn.

  • SK doesn't get super aggressive about your cities until threat is 3.

  • SK focuses a bit more on the shards.

  • Sprinkled some of the new (art wise) SK monsters into the SK unit spawns. (provides more visual and strategic variety).

  • Rare chance of a powerful and/or unusual creature to be spawned early on (introduce players to scary stuff).

  • Some minor balance tweaks on SK units to provide more differentiation.

  • Added code so tactical items that cast spells, (such as scrolls), obey the spell's cooldown,

  • Spell and scrolls cooldowns

    • Lightning Storm spell now has a 2 turn cooldown

    • Blizzard now has a 2 turn cooldown

    • Fireball now has a 2 turn cooldown

    • Flame Wave now has a 2 turn cooldown

  • Blizzard Scroll" recipe made more expensive

    • Now 1x Papyrus Scroll, 4x Clouded Topaz, 2x Radiant Topaz, 2x Last Breath

    • Was 1x Papyrus Scroll, 3x Clouded Topaz, 2x Last Breath

  • "Lightning Storm Scroll" recipe made more expensive

    • Now 1x Papyrus Scroll, 2x Clouded Amethyst, 1x Radiant Amethyst, 1x Last Breath

    • Was 1x Birch Scroll, 2x Clouded Ruby, 1x Mana Berries

  • Flamewave and Fireball recipes now require Papyrus Scrolls instead of Birch Scroll

  • Removed of master Blacksmith (old improvement that used to unlock Sentinel)



Bugs

  • Fixed a bug that made it difficult for the SK to spawn monsters late game.

  • After turn 150, tiny Sk armies no longer allowed

  • Fixed a major bug that caused the rivals to not be able to spawn units after turn 10! D'Oh!

  • Fixed another bug that was preventing rivals from spawning units.

  • Rivals will tend to spawn a unit every 8 or so turns.

  • Fixed Scout bug, where monsters were hunting down the Scout unit

  • Dominion and Escape given icons (you can get these spells via quests)

  • Replacing the can't settle tooltip of: "Must build on tiles that provide Food" with "Cities must be settled on Fertile tiles.  Fertile tiles have Food yield icons above them."

  • More enchanted icons

SK is looking good. 

 

The art is good and overall feel of the game is also good. Furthermore I have not seen as many bugs as last time I played (b 5.4)

BTW: Is there a way to see if you have 5.5 or 5.5.1 ?? 

I can see in the lower left corner on the main screen it says 0.99 (but I do not know what that corresponds to in beta#)
