Refunds?

Hello,

Will refunds be offered for either the founders edition and/or the lifetime edition?  Assuming I make the purchase, but slowly begin to see that this is not the game for me.  Of course, this would be before the game becomes a full release.

If yes, what conditions must be met and when is the last time to get a refund?

Thank you!

No, it entirely beats the purpose. Purchasing Founder's Edition assumes that you should take a risk of interest divergence and possible under-delivery to get rewards such as lower overall price and exclusive content access. Not to mention that such refunds require a completely uncommon budget planning scheme built from the assumption that developers can lose all the money coming from preorders and cannot use it before the game is released. Also, if you're coming from non-competitive SupCom and wondering if AotS is for you, it's not, and developers already mentioned it directly.

I may be wrong, but I think Stardock operates under the economic model that the games they are working on are fully funded through the full development cycle, and do not rely upon founder/pre-order money to finish the game or provide expansions. My guess is the money this game makes goes into the bank to fund the next idea.

Not correct. The amount of money made on founders is largely irrelevant. The purpose of a charge is a barrier to entry so that we have a group of people who are truly committed to the game development process. Some studios do friends & family alphas at this stage, but we have decided to be more open then that.

This is our return policy: https://store.stardock.com/policy.aspx

That said, it's early in development and it may not be the best for you to join unless you're looking to provide feedback and don't mind everything that comes along with a pre-alpha.
