Having Trouble with the Minimap

Every time I end my turn the minimap seems to zoom back in on the center of the galaxy which is not where interesting things are going on at the moment. Is there a way to lock the minimap or have it stop zooming around when I end my turn?

 

Also when I try to zoom in on any other section of the minimap it zooms back to the center of the galaxy, is there a way to make it zoom in on the quadrant of space I'm fighting over?

I looked around and found a solution on a steam forum.

If you use the middle mouse button to move the minimap around a bit then zoom out it seems to stop the zooming at the end of every turn.

This sounds like a good work-around, but you should open a ticket. This issue could be quite annoying for some.
