Campaign fleet and graphics problems

During the Campaign maps, I've noticed that the Drengin will approach me with what is identified as a 7 ship fleet.  So I create a fleet that will match them.  Then, when they attack, the fleet morphs into a 30 ship fleet, and I get wiped out!  Is this correct behavior?

 

Also, I just loaded a saved game and the galactic background when from the pretty blue-black-purple spacescape to an awful bright orange.  I couldn't even see any anomalies against it.  When I reloaded the game again, the correct background returned.

Yes that's correct because the fleet you were fighting havd carriers in it.  The Drengin in the campaign use a lot of carriers.

Hopefully they will add it so when you check the details of a fleet you can see details of individual ships, including what modules are equipped.  Or add something to the tooltip that identifies the ship as having a carrier module (maybe as well as type and no. of ships it will spawn in).
