Galaxy size should indicate suggested players
It's too easy to create a galaxy that is just completely empty right now.

I'm 100 turns into my current game with an immense galaxy and have yet to meet any major or minor races. And I put them all in the game in the set up screen. (I like being able to do this though)
We need the steam workshop to allow people to build custom races that we can download.
I'm not going to download 124 races or so to fill up an immense galaxy. Just allow *randomly generated* races as well. It could be cool to meet aliens who were quite alien.
Immense Galaxy is designed for 128 players.
I feel Huge is good for 8 players.
Tiny 3
There are other factors # planets and quality
I'm not sure this is true. My current game with an insane map and about 50 players is very crowded. On turn 2, I met two races already that are right on my doorstep.
What kind of game do you want to play? What planet settings do you have? It depends on so much.
Personally, I like space to be spaceous, so even on the larger maps I don't mind having few players. Similarly, I tend not to play Tiny with more than a couple. Other people want early-game interaction, and to be able to meet dozens of new races and interact with all of them. A "suggested players" for either of us would be meaningless for the other.
And then, if you have Rare suns, planets and habitable, with abundant extreme, there just aren't enough planets for lots of races. But Abundant and few extreme, there are a lot more planets.
I'd also like some input on this. There's got to be an average for each galaxy. Like 8-12 for medium or something.
I'm wondering if he meant to say 12 and 128 was a typo.
Huge is still pretty big and gives a long game. I prefer the one below that for a game that lasts about a day or two.

128 is the technical maximum as was stated by the CEO / AI programmer in the stream if I remember correctly.

ok, thanks. Although 'technical maximum', and 'balanced for' are two very different things.
