I'm not sure how I did this.  My treasury is at 999999 anyway, and my surveyor just found this :)

This event simply gives you an amount equal to 10% of your treasury or 500, whichever is the larger value. So the amount you received is not surprising.

I've literally never seen one that gave that much, whatever my treasury was.  The ones right before, and right after gave somewhere between 1 and 100 bc.

There are different anomalies.

(Rare) Artifacts can give, as mentioned above, the best of 500 credits or 10% of your current credits.

Cargo Pods give between 10 and 250 credits.

Space Junk can give 100 credits, between 10 and 50, or 1
