strange revenue
Hi all,
I'm quite sure the revenue in the picture should be -4$/s as the iron price equals steel price, and -4 is from 0.2 power.
The shown revenue is 20$, how come? Am I seeing something wrong?

Revenue is not the same as profit.
(UPDATE: While revenue is defined as raw income, I have no idea what it means for this tool tip)
If you are missing something i am missing it too.
If revenue means:
Now +20$ does not make any sense. The only way i can come close to a 20 value is by the following:
Now, it does not make any sense either.
Oh and also:
If you know something more, please explain.
It might be the average of the steel mills? As the middle 2 steel mills ARE profitable.
The screenshot shows +3.5 steel production so:
3.5 * (43$) - 3 * (43$) = 21.5$ of revenue
From the 4 steel mill present it is not possible. I assume the "Off" steel mill does not provide any bonus and there is a steel mill alone somewhere.
My point was that its understandable that its not -$4, because revenue is supposed to be without costs. According to the screen and the tooltip together he's generating +3.5 steel, and consuming -3 iron because of the bonuses. So, $43*3.5 - $43*3.0 is the $21.5 you arrived at. So, I guess it is profit after all. I can't account for the remaining 1.5 with what we can see. Maybe the sale price is being adjusted by how much the price would decrease selling that 3.5 steel.
UPDATE: I was trying to rationalize the .5 extra steel coming from somewhere I can't figure, and lost sight of the fact that the $20 revenue would not be correct if all three steel mills were reporting $20. I have no idea how this calculation is working.
That seems reasonable.
Also the total cost of power is 0.2 * 4 * -22$ = -17.6$. So is it definitely not accounted for. But i think it is correct not to include it.
I would appreciate some dev clarification on this, because this is not at all clear. I don't think that the revenue is the average revenue from all steel mills, because I get different values from facilities with different adjacency bonuses.
This is interesting info! We need to summon a dev by the holy beta tester power.
I put up one steel mill for testing and I can make no sense of the revenue. Iron seems spot on.
I assume the "Off" steel mill does not provide any bonus
Off buildings definitely provide adjacency bonuses.
I am a dev and I had no idea this feature was in the game. I will summon Soren to explain himself.
