So... How's the Battlegrounds DLC?

The Battlegrounds DLC is the first SD product in a while I haven't dropped money on pretty much immediately on release.  I'm wondering if it positively alters the game or if the new stamps and tactical maps are even noticed while playing.

Does anyone have any feedback on this product?  Is it worth the money?

The tactical maps make battles a little more unexpected. Only a few have a major effect on tactics (one map has a grove of trees in center, and almost splits your force in half for the starting location, with significant distance between them. This map makes you scramble to re-position!), but they break up the expectations of tactical battles with is a key element of the overall experience.

New stamps are harder to notice (generated a few maps, then played one game), but there seems to be more long mountain ranges, and more thin channels of land bordered by water. In other words, random maps are less like blobs of roughly equal shape, they now have more contour and variety.

Of the two, the tactical probably has more general value. Overall, this DLC made the game a bit fresher so I am glad I bought it.

davrovana summed it up well there.

I've played a bit with it and it was a nice change to get some fresh tactical maps... and I'm fairly sure i've had a couple of new stamps show up also, was some interesting mountain ranges that I haven't seen before in my last game.

So far it seems worthwhile to me.  I'd keep Battlegrounds over the leader dlc and undead dlc if I had to give a couple up, no question.

An excellent DLC! :)

Very pleased with the results here too. Gives more depth of the strategic and tactical maps.
