[.51 bug?] No xeno buildings in available projects.
I'v researched xeno industrialization but the xeno buildings aren't in my available projects list, just the basic versions. Is this a bug?

Remember, you are suppose to build only the basic versions and then it upgrades. There is still some debate as to the value of this arrangement and I wouldn't mind having a choice but currently this is the way the devs have it set.
This sounds better.
That sounds pretty dumb IMO. My planet should upgrade existing basic structures to xeno, but any new ones I build after getting that research should start at xeno.
Actually, the math and tests shows that in a starting colony, building the basic and then upgrading it over time is faster then starting with the max available as the game allows you to still use the building while its being upgraded. This is great if you just want to colonize a planet and let it run by itself. The issue comes when you need to jump start a colony, for example, one on the front lines. It would be nice to have an option to buy the max tech building outright.
I totally agree. I want the basic bonus to help me and then upgrade it. It would be nice to queue it to upgrade after building the basic.
It might be better to choose the upgraded version and the game built it all in stages (basic, medium, advanced) instead of taking forever to build the most advanced with no bonus.

The more I think about it, the more this bothers me. By this logic, in 2014 if you wanted to build a modern building, you would first have to build a teepee, then maybe an adobe hut on top of it, the tear that down and build a very basic wood frame house, then build over that a small skyscraper...etc. You get my point. Once we learn a newer building technology, we don't (and shouldn't) have to build new structures by building old ones first and then tearing them down and build more advanced structures on their foundation. We should be able to directly build the most advanced structures.
Well, as I said in another thread (on Steam) about this issue, using real world analogies doesn't always work as sometimes reality is circumvented to make way for a more fun process. The devs find that it is faster to just build the basic structure and let the upgrades run their course. So they put it that way to reduce some micromanagement processes. Personally, I would still like an option to build the latest and then be allowed to rush build it. We shall see if they decide to make it work like that.
