Game will not start, no error shown

Hello !

I'm french. Sorry for my English.

I own the previous game on steam and have no problems, I bought this rebellion and the DLC and the game will not start. I click on the Icon on the desktop or click play from with in steam and nothing happens?? Nothing, no error, no attempt to start, just nothing happens.

I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and still will not start. I checked the games cashe integrity and it said all was fine ? I even tried the beta patch and still no start.

I went into properties of the exe file and clicked compatibility for Windows 7 "etc" and clicked Administrator and still nothing? 

Can anyone help.

How are you launching the game? Via the Steam game manager? Heh, I almost want to say it's because you have Windows 8.1... had nothing but problems with Windows 8... but beyond that I don't know.

Try deleting your "rebellion.user.setting" file in the "C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting folder.
