Lunar Eclipse Tonight

Don’t miss it…weather permitting.

Because the earth’s atmosphere will be seen on the moon, the predominant color of the moon will be red…hence the misnomer, “Blood Moon”.

You guys (AzDude, Philly) out west should start watching around midnight, and the max eclipse will be around 1:17 a.m. and end around 6:32 a.m.

In the East, we won’t see the max…but at about 4 a.m. and on, watch the western sky – it’ll help if you have a flat horizon like the folks on Florida’s west coast…and it should start around 4:17 a.m.

today... overcast and raining...  :(

Looking at it now.... midway through the hour of it's peak redness.... been cloudy but clearing now for a bit for a look...

strange to think the glow is from our sunrises and sunsets....  very cool...  B)

I saw it about 1:20am when I just happened to wake up, but sad to say I wasn't impressed sd it just looked like an ordinary full moon to me. May have gotten better later I suppose.

Doc, you pic ( reply #10) looks like Dr. Moon.  (I see the smart phone hanging around his neck - used for diagnosis purposes on house calls.) You been hanging out in "the Library" of Doctor Who?   :)
