Is it intended that when a monster is on a shard, that you can't attack it?

I know you can walk on shards when there's no monsters on them, but the game currently doesn't let you attack monsters that are sitting on shards.  I'm sure we can dispatch them without harming the shard, and if we get an updated version where this is allowed, it would allow me to save a shard that has only 1 skerrick left. =)  Otherwise, there will have to be a lore reason, but I would prefer if you can remove those monsters from where they're not wanted. ;-)

I found standing your army next to shard causes combat but not until the next turn.

I had a monster on a shard. But, I don't think I want to attack Vetrar on my shard. I'm happy to leave him there ;)

Vetrar's a newb...just swarm him to death.

I have had the same problem. It was annoying because the enemy army then proceeded to damage the shard. :(

I have also had my own army on a shard and the Shafer button says I have idle units. I had to exit out of SK and load the game again before I could it let me go to next turn.
