Questions and Comments about the Beta

Some of my observations for the Beta.  I haven't been over a lot of notes, so I don't know if something has been implemented or is still being worked on.

1.  There needs to be a popup prompting you to upgrade your starbase when a constructor reaches it.

2.  There's no way to rebuild your survey ship  if yours gets destroyed, without making a custom design.

3.  There needs to be a way to eject a constructor from a starbase.

4.  Please increase initial ship speed and range.  On a Large galaxy it takes forever just to even find your opponents.

5.  It may just be me, but having the various terraform-type techs only upgrade one tile at a time is extremely annoying.  Especially with the incredibly long build times for each project (~20 manufacturing still takes 38 weeks for each ultra-terraformer).

6.  Fleet disbanding/ejecting, and upgrading individual ships in a fleet is buggy-sometimes you can upgrade, sometimes you can't. Sometimes you can get the ship to move, sometimes you can't, etc.

7.  Auto-upgrade ships option please.

8.  Approval and economy are really weak in the early game, with few upgrade possibilities.

9.  Auto-Upgrade projects is nice, but I would like to be able to choose to simply build the latest version of a project, instead of building the basic version, then upgrading.

10.  There's no quick way to see if your civilization's economy is in the positive or negative, and by how much.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to see a single ship's logistics value?  I can see the fleet total, but not the individual ship.

2.  Are there resources that improve your economy/morale/military, etc?

3.  What do the current resources do?  I'm mining Elerium, Durantium and Antimatter but I don't see any options to use them.

4.  Are there going to be trade goods like in 1 and 2?

Bugs:

1. I'm unable to do Soil Enhancement, and any of the Terraforms (including Ultra-Terraform) on certain planets.  Mostly, they seem to be class 20+ but I've had some 19's with this problem.  Clicking any of those build options just highlights the initial colony.  I am able to do the Habitat Improvement, and Orbitals.

2.  I'm crashing to desktop at turn 544 no matter what I do.

3.  I'm an Elite Founder and I don't see my star name in the StarNamesText.xml ;)

"2. Are there resources that improve your economy/morale/military, etc?"

If you are referring to the ones from GCII that required you to build mining starbases on them, they will be back this timed called precursor relics.

"3. What do the current resources do? I'm mining Elerium, Durantium and Antimatter but I don't see any options to use them."

They are used for certain ship components.

"4. Are there going to be trade goods like in 1 and 2?"

Yes, besides the ones you can build. There will be some you already find on planets.

"3. I'm an Elite Founder and I don't see my star name in the StarNamesText.xml"

They haven't been added to the game yet.

Star Yggdradill should probably be Yggdrasill :)

Is there a way to zoom out far enough to see the entire galaxy for Medium and Large?

"2.  There's no way to rebuild your survey ship  if yours gets destroyed, without making a custom design."

There is, but you need to get to medium hulls, as that's what your initial survey ship is. Once you do that, there will be a survey ship that looks exactly like your initial one available to customize and build.

Feature, not a bug, I posted about it in this thread.

If you hover over your credit total in the top right, it will show you +/- how much per turn you are making. The same with your population in the top right as well.

@peregrine:  Hmmm I don't think I like that setup.  It makes planets seem so sparse, and a lot of them barely have enough room for late game improvements.
