New DLC + Q&A -- Dev Stream Today (4/24), noon Pacific

Hey everybody --

Join Kael and I at the official Stardock Twitch.tv channel for a look at the DLC that's releasing today plus a chance to ask Kael (lead designer Derek Paxton) any questions you have for him live on the air.

The broadcast goes live at noon Pacific time (3pm Eastern, 9pm CET) and will be available on-demand shortly after it concludes via both Twitch and the Stardock YouTube channel.

I'm dropping Derek into a game that I played a few hundred turns of previously, a tight 2v2v2 on a small map with slow research and an extra-dangerous world. The good news is that Tarth has been conquered and New Pariden is under Wraith control, but Queen Procipenee escaped the purge and is leading an army into the ravaged Tarth homelands -- which wouldn't be a problem if she weren't nearly as personally powerful as the Titans themselves.

Tune in to see how Derek handles the wrath of an angry queen, and check out the DLC that will be available shortly after the stream concludes.

I am excited!  But the time conversions don't seem right:  3pm Pacific time is 6pm Eastern, not noon, and midnight CET, not 9pm, isn't it?

I'm a bit confused about the DLC. Thought there were supposed to be spouses now (I am much happier if there is not) but it seems all the details on the steam store page say nothing about this. If that is in there and just not listed, is there going to be an option, or advanced option to disable this. Really want the DLC for the new leaders.

Might just have to watch the live stream before I purchase. Hopefully all will be made clear!

I'll place my comments here:

~0:00 Can you rotate buildings again when placing them? (with manual building placement enabled of course)

~17:00 Derek speaks about DLC and what different players would like to see. I'd love to see a 'late game content' DLC :)

~26:30 Adam talks about mixing life/death magic with empires/kingdoms now. Does that mean that the Binding ability will receive a series of 'Kingdom' units....and something for the Life Shard? (see Parrotmath's mod for what's been done so far)

~29:10 Adam talks about Procipinee being a summoner. I agree. She is a very powerful summoner. :)

~32:00 Hi Frogboy. :)

~35:40 Adam speak about City Militia. Is there a plan to change the units up a bit? Perhaps give the fortress/conclave/town unique city defenders?

Cool.

Need more streaming. :)

I'd give you answers, but those are all pretty much Kael questions, sorry!

I think the problem was that you originally said Friday and you only gave a couple hour's worth of a heads up.

Yeah more notice is necessary. And as of yesterday I heard the dlc was going to be delayed.  All of this changed with no warning.

Yeah, sorry about the short notice fellas. We didn't have the final green light for the DLC releasing until pretty up against the wire. I absolutely understand the frustration and will work to make it better in the future if at all possible :)
